(NECN) - Ed Markey is set to be sworn in Tuesday as Massachusetts' next U.S. Senator.
Vice President Joe Biden will preside over the ceremony in Washington, which Governor Deval Patrick is expected to attend.

Last month Markey won a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by John Kerry.

We are also getting some clarity as to when a vote for Markey's vacant congressional seat will take place.
A primary will be held on Oct. 15.
Five Democratic candidates have announced they're running for the 5th Congressional District Seat.
The general election is set for Dec.10.
