Police investigate fatal crash on RT 190 in Worcester

(NECN: Holden, Mass.) - Massachusetts State Police are reporting to NECN of a two vehicle fatal crash on Route 190 northbound in Worcester,

Preliminary evidence indicated the crash was caused by a woman driving the wrong way on the highway.
Ashley Hannan, 23, of Worcester was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox.

She was traveling south in the northbound lanes when Ms. Hanna struck a northbound 1990 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The truck was being operated by Thomas Serewicz, 23, of Fitchburg.

Both operators were pronounced deceased at the scene by responding EMS personnel.

A passenger in Mr. Serewicz's vehicle, Stephen Larson, 25, of Worcester, was seriously injured and was transported to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester where he remains in critical condition.

The reason that Ms. Hannan was driving against traffic on the highway remains under investigation.
