Troy Brown, the man who embodied all things Patriots during the last decade, is being honored Saturday for the damage he did while with the Marshall Thundering Herd.
To which I say this.
Brown's going into the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana. He's part of the 2010 Divisional Enshrinement Class since, when Brown was at Marshall in 1991 and '92, they were a I-AA school.
While there, he racked up 139 receptions for 2.746 yards and 24 touchdowns and had 1,825 yards on returns. He led Marshall to back-to-back trips to the I-AA National Championship game.
Dick MacPherson, Patriots head coach in 1991 and '92, is also being enshrined for his work at both UMass and, more memorably, Syracuse.
If you want to see the inductee in the flesh, here's your chance. Troy is going to be a featured guest at Mohegan Sun on July 27 when Comcast Sportsnet and CSNNE invade for a day of food, football and live program. Enter and get yourself on the happy bus down there.
Meanwhile, here's some video of TB80 being pretty good.
