Broadside: Ukraine, Russia Trading Blame

Accusations are making the rounds in the aftermath of Malaysian Airlines plane being shot down; expert Nadiya Kravets has more

Late Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed Ukraine, calling the crash an "awful tragedy" and said he and his advisers had observed a moment of silence for the victims.

However, Ukraine claims to have the proof of Russian and separatist ties to the crash.

U.S. officials, including President Obama, are being guarded in their comments for now.

Nadiya Kravets, a fellow at the Ukrainian Research Institute and the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, says it's too early to put the blame on anyone.

"From what we heard in terms of reports coming from Ukrainian side - Ukrainian military, Ukrainian government, from the social media - evidence is circumstantial ... very strong circumstantial evidence is pointing out to the rebels that are Russian-supplied, arms are supplied by Russia, that shot this plane down," she said.
