Last week, ESPN insider John Clayton threw a pile up against the wall wondering if Tom Brady would hold out from the start of training camp. We scratched our heads and explained that wouldn't be happening. Slow day in Seattle, apparently.
Today, Clayton continued to milk his own speculation saying on ESPN's Mike & Mike radio show that it remains a "possibility" that Brady could skip the start of camp. My goombah Tim Graham parroted Clayton's words.
A "possibility" gives one a pretty good amount of leeway. For instance, there's a possibility the Patriots will invite me to camp to replace Brady if he opted to not show. But it's a very, very slim one.
And, as I heard today, any chance that Brady won't be at camp when it starts on Thursday remains slim. He is expected in Boston over the weekend when he'll resettle for the 2010 season.
"Foolish" was the term I heard used to describe speculation that he wouldn't be at training camp from the jump.
