(NECN) -  There's long-been fascination with British royalty.
But with the Royal Baby due for the recently married Prince William and Kate, that interest has soared.
Gregory Payne, from the department of communication studies at Emerson College, joined NECN to discuss the fascination with the birth of the Royal Baby.

Why are people so fascinated with the royal family?

Payne said that the Royal Baby watch is hype, and that many people just want to watch a piece of history.

He said that there is still much love for Princess Diana.

“I think part of it is we still have this infatuation with her, I think through William and through Kate she lives on,” said Payne.
