(NECN) - Connecticut State Police confirm that UConn's Avery Point Campus in Groton is safe and under control, after reports of a gunman prompted an overnight evacuation.

Connecticut affiliate WFSB reports the standoff with the suspect is over.

Police had reportedly been negotiating with a gunman who was threatening to ham himself.

Officers were able to isolate the suspect in a remote area.

No students on the campus were harmed.
