The BP gas station at 198 Leavenworth Road in Shelton is open, but they are not selling gas after a car crashed into the gas pumps around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Witnesses said the woman behind the wheel of the Mazda was driving fast and lost control before the crash. A gas station attendant said she heard a loud screech, looked outside and saw that a car had slammed into the pumps.
According to gas station staff, the pumps were turned off after the crash.
Whether the pumps will be running later today is not known.
The car flipped over between gas pumps and was towed from the scene around 10:30 p.m.
No one was struck and no information is yet available on the extent of the driver's injuries.
