Vt. prosecutors say Randolph woman stabbed friend

RANDOLPH, Vt. (AP) — Vermont prosecutors say a Randolph woman stabbed her boyfriend in the chest with a steak knife after he told her he was leaving her.

Fifty-one-year-old Cindy LaPlante pleaded not guilty in court Thursday to aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon.

WCAX-TV ( ) is reporting police say LaPlante attacked her boyfriend during an argument at her father's house on School Street in Randolph late Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say the victim's injury is not life-threatening.

Court officials say LaPlante did not have an attorney assigned.
