An MBTA Transit Police sergeant is on paid administrative leave and due in court after he was arrested three times in less than a 48-hour period.
David Jaime, 29, is accused of assaulting a woman at a New Hampshire party over the weekend as well as violating a restraining order twice.
On Saturday at 11 p.m., police in Salem, New Hampshire, responded to 16 Meadow Lane for a report that Jaime assaulted a female guest at a party, and left the area driving a black SUV towards Methuen, Massachusetts, striking several parked cars along the way.
Police discovered his vehicle in the parking lot at the Haverhill Bank at 396 Main St. in Salem and say they took him into custody after a short foot chase.
Investigation indicated Jaime assaulted a woman at the party, causing injuries to her face, head, throat and arms. She was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.
Jaime was transported to a hospital and examined by medics. He was released on bail from the hospital and will be arraigned Aug. 11 at the Salem District Court for driving under the influence, conduct after an accident, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, and domestic simple assault.
According to the Boston Globe, he was arrested again in Methuen Monday morning for allegedly violating a restraining order, but was released later in the day, according to Sergeant Leahy of the Methuen police, who declined to give his first name.
Jaime returned to Salem later Monday and was arrested for alleged stalking and violation of a restraining order. He will be arraigned Tuesday on those charges.
