Brown Attacks Shaheen Over Stance on Immigration Crisis

Scott Brown spoke of Jeanne Shaheen's stance on immigration at HALO Maritime Defense Wednesday in New Hampshire

Scott Brown was at HALO Maritime Defense getting a tour of the company's new expanded facility in New Hampshire on Wednesday.

HALO makes waterway barriers for security purposes. They help to keep people out of places they don't belong.

It's a theme Brown is focused on this week as he criticizes his Democratic opponent, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, for her position on immigration.

Brown has released a television ad, a radio ad and an on-line petition saying the President was wrong to allow, through executive order, some to get into the country ahead of law abiding people.

Brown said Obama encouraged families to send their kids over the border adding, "It was like a neon light going out across that part of the country and in fact, that's what happened and right now we have an influx of children and others coming across our border with very little effort to stop them. So we need to secure the border once and for all."

Brown said Shaheen was wrong to vote against a border fence, for the DREAM Act and for the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill.

It's a bill that New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte, a Republican, also voted for, calling it a bipartisan solution.

"Hard to say, but probably not because it still provided incentives and magnets for people to come here and continue to get benefits," said Brown when asked if he would have supported that bill if he'd been in the Senate.

State Democratic Party Communications Director Julie McClain says Shaheen does support strong immigration reforms and that Brown has doubled down on his dishonest attacks, going after one of his own, out of desperation.

Brown still trails Shaheen in the polls and his popularity as a centrist Republican, always a strong suit of his in Massachusetts, does not play as well with New Hampshire's strong Republican conservative base.

Still Brown, doesn't seem concerned.

"I feel great. As soon as we unify our party, it's going to be Senator Jeanne Shaheen's worst nightmare," added Brown.
