(NECN: Julie Loncich, Swansea, Mass.) - A large search and police chase has landed three people behind bars in Swansea, Mass.
The last was caught just a short time ago and caused quite a scare for a bit.
It all started at a Target store in Swansea.
There were tense moments, specifically on 195 in Swansea after state and local police chased down three suspects believed to have shoplifted from the Target,
According to Mass. State Police, the suspects fled the parking lot and got on 195. The vehicle pulled onto a wooded median between exits 2 and 3. Police say two accomplices in the vehicle were immediately arrested but the driver took off on foot. Initially, police thought he had a gun, and the highway was shut down in both directors for a brief period of time.
That suspect was apprehended in a cab on Rt. 6 on his way to New Bedford.
He was arrested unarmed.
