(NECN: John Moroney, Littleton, Mass.) - The 10-year-old girl who was run over by her mother in the family's driveway has died, according to police.

The girl, identified as Bridget Culhane, was laying in the driveway Monday night when her mother came home. Barbara Culhane allegedly never saw her daughter, and ran her over as she pulled into the driveway.

"At the top of the driveway, there were two vehicles parked in front of the family residence... [they] obstructed the mom's right hand view into the driveway. From everything we've been able to piece together at this point, it looks like the daughter was playing in the driveway laying down... when the mom went to swing in, [she] was just never able to see her."

Bridget was flown to Children's Hospital Boston and was pronounced dead Monday night.

The incident is under investigation, but authorities are calling it an "extremely tragic incident" and do not anticipate filing charges.
