(NECN) - Firefighters in Wellesley, Mass. are searching for the cause of a three-alarm fire.

The fire started Friday afternoon at a home on Durant Road. The house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived on scene.

The fire hydrant nearby didn't work, so firefighters had to run hoses half a mile down the street in order to put out the flames.

Everyone got out safely.
Fire officials say the house is a total loss.
