16-year-old bicyclist hit by car in Wellfleet, Mass. dies

(NECN) - A 16-year-old boy who was hit by a car Saturday on Route 6 in Wellfleet has died.

Police say Miles Tibbetts was riding his bike when he was hit by a green Honda Accord being driven by a 76-year-old woman. When officers found Tibbetts, he was not breathing and was unresponsive. They performed CPR until firefighters arrived.

Initial reports say the teen was crossing the street in front of Cumberland Farms when he was hit.

Tibbetts was taken to Cape Cod Hospital and then flown to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Police have not said if the driver will face charges. The accident is currently under investigation.
