Maine Gov. LePage denies disparaging comment about Obama

(NECN) - Maine Gov. Paul LePage is denying that he made any disparaging remarks about President Barack Obama.

“No, I never said that, and you guys are all about gossip,” he told reporters when questioned.
The Portland Press Herald recently reported that Gov. LePage told a group of fellow Republicans that the president "hates white people."

There was no recording of the comment.

The paper says its sources for the article were two Republican lawmakers who requested anonymity because they said they feared political retribution.
