(NECN: Alison King, Oak Bluffs, Mass.) - The weather is putting a real damper on the First Family's vacation on Martha's Vineyard.

President Obama is laying low today and staying dry at his rented farm compound.

Obama has appeared just once in public so far -- a visit on Friday to a bookstore.

However, it is reported he is playing basketball today at an elementary school in Oak Bluffs.

Meanwhile, all trips to and from Oak Bluffs are being diverted to Vineyard Haven today due to weather. For more information, please call: (508) 548-3788, (508) 693-0367 or (508) 693-0125.

Alison King also tells the story of Tom Murro, whose life has changed after meeting the president.
