(NECN: New England Dream House) - A builder created his Dream House in Dream House in Meredith, New Hampshire with an incredible view and several features designed to take advantage of it. The view in this house stretches almost all around the entire home. You can't see any other buildings - just the trees, lakes, and green terrain that bring tourists to New Hampshire every year. The builder/owner Mike Browher lived next door for 20 years and owned the land for 10 years before he started construction. "I'd come out here and spend many a day evening, looking at the sunset, sunrise," he said. But before he could start construction, he had to sell his wife on the idea, who was apprehensive because of the economy.
After she gave her okay, work began and the house was finished within 2 years.
The home's amazing view actually inspired many of its features. There are porches and decks all around the house, and there's an eagle's nest perched on the edge of a 40-foot cliff supported by a 30-foot tower.
Also, many of the rooms and bedrooms were designed specifically to get the most out of the spectacle. "Off the master bedroom is a private observation area that we call the belvedere," said Browher. "If you go up there you can see probably a 350 degree view."
The house also includes an outdoor pool, lots and lots of windows, and special Styrofoam insulation panels.
Despite how much Mike and Patty both love the house, the downturn in the real estate market has forced them to sell it. "It's really maybe too much of a house for a school teacher and a carpenter to have," they said.
Because the house is on the market, you can check it out if you're interested in buying it.
