(NECN/WSOC: Iredell County, N.C.) - The spot of one of North Carolina's deadliest train accidents claimed another life Friday.

A group of "ghost hunters" were on a bridge in the early hours of Friday morning, hoping to hear haunting sounds from a train accident in 18-91.
Instead a freight train rounded the bend, surprising the group.

One man didn't get out of the way in time.

WSOC's Jeff Smith spoke to his family and explains why the man's last action on earth is being called heroic.
