Man Who Called 911 Arrested After Woman Found Dead in Derry, New Hampshire Home

79-year-old Roderick Munstis was arrested after 74-year-old Ellen Munstis was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds

A 79-year-old man who placed a 911 call just after midnight has been arrested on murder charges in Derry, New Hampshire.

Roderick Munstis was arrested on alternative counts of knowing and reckless second-degree murder in the death of 74-year-old Ellen Munstis. Ellen was his wife, according to neighbors.

Officials said Roderick Munstis placed the 911 call minutes after midnight and identified himself to police. Officers responding to the call early Saturday found the body of Ellen Munstis, who's believed to have been shot to death, in their home at 151 Bypass 28.

Officials did not immediately specify the relationship between the suspect and victim, and it's unclear what led up to the shooting.

Roderick Munstis is being held pending his arraignment Monday in Rockingham Superior Court in Brentwood. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated and that there's no threat to the public. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone in the area of 151 Bypass 28 on Friday, who may have seen or heard any part of this event is encouraged to call the Derry Police Department detective unit at 603-432-6111.
