(NECN) - The dog food industry is a $50 billion market. With so many choices for food, it can be difficult to decided what is best for your pet. Veterinarian Dr. Jake Tedaldi shares some tips for choosing:

  • Find out what your pet likes. He/She needs to eat it every day!
  • The food should be easy and reliable to obtain
  • The food must be health for the pet

When considering the healthiest food, consider the animal's breed, age, and health conditions. The latest trend is fresher, less processed foods. Raw foods are more work and more money, but they may carry more health benefits for the animal.

Before deciding which food is best for your pet, consult your pet store worker and veterinarian. For more tip, check out petwiseparent.com.
