(NECN: Mike Nikitas) - John Hartling, a recently retired air traffic controller from New Hampshire, is interviewed by NECN's Mike Nikitas.

On the morning of the September 11th attacks in 2001, John handled, for a time, the two jets, which crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center.

John says it is a day he'll "never forget."

John says he has learned that you "can't take anything for granted."
