(NECN: Justine Waldman) - Today a passenger is still in the hospital after crashing into Tom Brady's car yesterday morning.

This is just as Brady is sealing a deal about a new 4-year contract with the New England Patriots.

Police have ticketed the driver in that car for running a red light. The driver of the van that crashed into Brady has been cited for multiple driving violations before. Ludgero Rodrigues, 21, has had his license suspended 5 times in the last 2 years. He has also has tickets for other moving and safety violations, and has been in one accident before.

Rodrigues' father is still in the hospital under serious condition. The family lives in a basement apartment in Fall River, and neighbors say they hope they'll be home soon.

The impact knocked over a street light and damaged the front end of Brady's black sedan. Brady was uninjured after the crash and practiced with the team later in the day.
