National fishery disaster declared in New England

(NECN) - The federal government has declared a national fishery disaster in New England.

That means struggling fisherman and their ports will be eligible for tens of millions of dollars in relief funds.
     
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry and others say the industry is being devastated by federal fishing regulations.

Kerry says he's secured a commitment of 100-million-dollars for communities.
