(NECN) - Gas prices have spiked for yet another week.

AAA is reporting that prices have seen a five cent increase over the past week, and a 16-cent increase from a month ago.

The national average for regular, unleaded gas is averaging $3.87 per gallon.

Prices usually drop after Labor Day, but factors like unrest in the Middle East and the brief shutdown of refineries in the Gulf of Mexico due to Hurricane Isaac are said to be at-blame for the high-prices.
