(NECN/WVIT: Dianna Russini) - Yale University is cracking down on parties.

Students are now expected to register their events with the dean's office, even if they live off campus.

Any party with more than 50 people must be registered online, four days in advance.

If a party exceeds the 50 person limit, it will be shut down by Yale Police.

Officials are hoping this new off campus rule will minimize underage drinking and ease conflict with neighbors of the Ivy League school.
