(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis held a news briefing after an apartment building in the Hyde Park section of the city was evacuated due to an explosion.

Davis says there are unknown chemicals in a container inside the apartment at this time -- a "significant number" of them.

Davis says there is no specific connection to drugs or terrorism at this time.

Davis says a search warrant will be executed later in the day.

The victim has lost both of his hands.
