(NECN: New York) - Former President Bill Clinton this morning kicked off an open plenary session of the Clinton Global Initiative conference.

Mallika Dutt, Executive Director of Breakthrough, received Clinton Global Initiative recognition -- and she spoke this morning.

She is committed to helping to reduce the problems of violence against women and HIV/AIDS.

"Domestic violence and HIV/AIDS are very closely linked," said Dutt. "Our most recent campaign calls on men and boys to become partners in breaking the cycle."
