BOSTON -- Bruins rookie Tyler Seguin will travel to Montreal with the team and play against the Canadiens in Wednesday's exhibition game as his NHL debut.

The move was first disclosed Tuesday to CSNNE.com by hockey sources and later confirmed by the Bruins following the State of the Bruins Town Meeting at TD Garden.

"It's another tool along the way to make the decision on Tyler. When we were putting the rosters together that really had a bearing on it: let's put him in front of a big crowd and see how he does," said general manager Peter Chiarelli. "I think it's their first game so it's going to be loud and he's going to be nervous as the rest of the guys will be that never played there before.

"It's his first game with the big guys, so you take all of these things, evaluations, assessments and put them together to make a decision on him. But he's acquited himself very well so far."

He will play center alongside wingers Mark Recchi and Blake Wheeler. Seguin played on the wing with Recchi and center Patrice Bergeron during the team's intra-squad scrimmage on Monday.

Here is the full roster for Wednesday night's exhibition opener against the Habs in Montreal:

FORWARDS: Patrice Bergeron, Gregory Campbell, Jordan Caron, Nathan Horton, Brian McGrattan, Daniel Paille, Mark Recchi, Jeremy Reich, Max Sauve, Tyler Seguin, Ryan Spooner, Blake Wheeler

DEFENSEMEN: Matt Bartkowski, Andrew Bodnarchuk, Johnny Boychuk, Matt Hunwick, Adam McQuaid, Dennis Seidenberg

GOALTENDERS: Tuukka Rask, Nolan Schaefer
