Jeep Analyzed in Hayride Crash

Maine State Police handed the results of the vehicle autopsy to the district attorney's office after the fatal crash in Mechanic Falls.

Crews have completed a "vehicle autopsy" on the Jeep that was involved in the hayride crash that killed a teen and injured 22 other people in Mechanic Falls, Maine, last weekend, state police confirm.

The results of the inspection will be sent to the district attorney's office with the rest of Maine State Police's investigative report.

State troopers, inspectors and officials with the Maine Fire Marshal's Office took part in the autopsy on the 1979 Jeep CJ5.

The crash killed 17-year-old Cassidy Charette.

All other injured victims of the crash have been released from area hospitals.
