BOSTON (AP) — A 79-year-old Shrewsbury man accused of killing his wife and eating some of her flesh has died. Prosecutors said Saturday that Jieming Liu died at a Boston hospital. A spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early says he did not have information on when Liu died or the cause of death. Liu was charged with murder last month after authorities say police found him sitting in a rocking chair in the couple's apartment, covered in blood, his wife's blood-soaked body on the floor.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tomorrow's election in Foxborough may give local voters the first opportunity to weigh in on a proposed casino. Two of the four Board of Selectmen candidates support opening negotiations with Las Vegas casino operator Steve Wynn over his plan to build a $1 billion resort on land leased from New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. The other two candidates are opposed to any casino talks. Anti-casino forces currently hold a 3-2 majority on the five-member board.

Dozens of rallies and demonstrations were held Saturday in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts as part of Climate Impacts Day, a global initiative organized by 350.org, an environmental group founded by Vermont activist Bill McKibben.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A federal judge in Rhode Island has sentenced a Massachusetts man to 15 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jonathan Campbell, formerly of Ashland, had been convicted three times in Massachusetts of committing violent felonies. Officers who set up surveillance, followed the vehicle and stopped it for a routine traffic violation found the weapon.
