NH woman charged in Maine stabbing, using scissors

KITTERY, Maine (AP) — Police in Maine have charged a New Hampshire woman with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon after she allegedly stabbed a man with a pair of scissors.

Kittery Police Chief Paul Callaghan said officers responded to a home at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday after a man called to say he had been stabbed.

The chief said police found a 69-year-old man who lives at the home bleeding from a cut to his stomach. He was taken to a hospital with serious, but non- life-threatening injuries.

A woman in the house, 36-year-old Layla Bautista-Gaspar of Portsmouth, N.H., was arrested.

Callaghan told the Portsmouth Herald (http://bit.ly/RPSHJu) that circumstances surrounding the stabbing were still under investigation.
