(NECN) - The remains of Washington Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis have been released.
However, the DC medical examiner would not reveal who claimed the body.
An autopsy was also completed on Alexis, but the results were not made public.
Last Monday, Alexis walked into a building on the navy yard and opened fire, killing 12 people.
He was eventually killed in a shootout with police.
The Navy is ordering an investigation into the shooting.
