(NECN) - A group of former University of Massachusetts Amherst football players are speaking out about a video showing the football program's unusual workouts.
The video has been on YouTube for a while now.
It shows UMass football players outdoors, squaring off against one another in wrestling and boxing competitions.
The former players are circulating a petition calling for the coaching staff to stop what they call the improper treatment of the current players.
A UMass official says the school is looking into the matter and that the well-being of the players is the top priority.
