Police in Stoneham, Mass. say they happened to observe a separate drug deal while they were closing month-long investigation

The arrest of a drug dealer in Stoneham, Massachusetts, led to the arrests of two other people in an unrelated drug deal, according to police.

Stoneham Police say they were closing in on an arrest in a month-long heroin investigation when officers happened to witness the separate drug deal.

Eighteen-year-old Deshaun Mercado of Stoneham was charged with distribution of heroin, possession with intent to distribute suboxone and possession of seroquel after police say they observed his operation for a month.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ebrima Marong of Lynnfield and 28-year-old Robert Jones of Stoneham were arrested and charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws when police say they observed Jones buying drugs from Marong.

Mercado and Jones were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Woburn. Marong's arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday.
