(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - The Boston Red Sox won their first postseason game since 2008 Friday and are looking to leave Fenway ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0.

Game 2 of the ALDS at Fenway is Saturday, and is the next big test for the Red Sox.

Early arrivals assessed the 12-2 victory in Game 1.

"It was great to see them come out, and, you know, throw down a solid performance there," said one fan. "[Jon] Lester pitched wonderfully. It was good to see the offense keep going."

Outside the park, fans were hungry for more playoff baseball. It's been a number of years since they last lined up outside Fenway in October.
