CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — James Holmes remains in solitary confinement in a Colorado jail, as prosecutors build their case against him.

A team of lawyers today spent about 90 minutes Tuesday inside the movie multiplex in Aurora where Holmes allegedly went on a deadly shooting rampage. Crews started setting up a chain link fence around the building while people continued to flock to a memorial nearby for the victims.

Survivors are offering new details about that night, saying the gunman stalked around the theater shouting and appearing to target people. Holmes is accused of methodically stockpiling weapons and explosives at work and at home that police say he used to kill 12 people and wound 58 more at the theater.

Families of the victims have begun preparing for funerals. The first is planned for Wednesday. At 51, Gordon Cowden was the oldest of those killed.
