(NECN) - The search for a missing 10-year-old girl from Colorado has a possible link to New Hampshire.

Police in Portsmouth say they did search an area this morning in connection with the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway.

Police found an abandoned car in a parking lot near Wal-Mart on Lafayette Road.

They tell us the car is similar to the description of one police in Maine had been searching for.

That car was linked to a possible sighting of Ridgeway in Dexter, Maine on Sunday.

The Portsmouth Herald says a k-9 unit was called in to investigate both the car and the surrounding area.
Jessica Ridgeway was last seen nearly a week ago when she left her house to walk to school.
Police believe she was abducted.
