(NECN: John Moroney) - Elizabeth Warren made an appearance at Northeastern University with actor Zach Braff on Saturday, and took her opponent Scott Brown to task for not doing the right thing for women.

She has a new television spot, which criticizes the GOP incumbent for voting against issues important to the opposite sex.

Brown fired back almost immediately with his own commercial, featuring his wife Gail Huff and their daughters.

Meanwhile, Brown attended an annual cookout hosted by Democrat state Rep. David Nangel, who endorsed the Republican U.S. Senator in his race against the Democratic Party's nominee. Former Lowell Mayor and Democrat Rita Mercier has endorsed Brown as well.

Back at Northeastern, Warren said Brown's record on women speaks for itself.
