(NECN) - The Red Sox have a rich place in baseball history, both in the regular season at Fenway Park and in the World Series.

And, in a Red Sox Nation thick with passionaries, professor Tom Whalen of Boston University has a special place.

He joins NECN's Steve Aveson to offer his perspective.

Game 1 of the World Series will take place Wednesday night at Fenway Park as the Red Sox take on the Cardinals.
