Man hospitalized after crashing into telephone pole in Uxbridge, Mass.

(NECN) -  A man is in the hospital, severely hurt, after crashing his car into a telephone pole in Uxbridge, Mass.
The crash happened sometime after 4:00 a.m. on East Hartford Avenue.
Police say the car hit the pole, splitting it, then burst into flames.
Officers had to put out those flames before they could pull the trapped driver from the car.
The driver had burns on 45 percent of his body.
The accident is under investigation.
