(NECN) - A former New England Patriot star is finally opening up with his 10-year battle with a digestive disease that impacts thousands of Americans each year.

Matt Light is well-known as a former New England Patriot linebacker, three-time Super Bowl champion, and current ESPN analyst.

He is now opening up with his battle with Crohn's disease, in an effort to raise awareness about the digestive disease that affects more than 700,000 Americans.

Diagnosed during his rookie year, Matt battled Crohn's his entire NFL career, forcing him to miss games when he was too sick to play and spend his first Super Bowl ring ceremony in the hospital.

He stopped by "The Morning Show" to discuss his fight against Crohn's.
