(NECN) - In France, an 18-month-old baby is unscathed, despite falling out of a 8th floor window. It took a series of unbelievable steps for it to happen.

The baby's parents went for a walk on Monday, leaving the girl alone with her very young sister.

The baby somehow crawled out the window and off the balcony. But then, they hit the awning of a cafe, bounced up into the air, and then fell into the waiting arms of a passerby.

Reports show that passerby may have been a doctor.

To top it all off, the awning normally would have been closed as well, but it had jammed the day before.

Police say the baby's parents were on a walk at the time of the accident. They're now being detained by French police.
