PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Fire crews are working to put out a blaze that erupted after a home exploded in Pawtucket.

The explosion happened just after 10 a.m. Tuesday in a triple-decker home on Mineral Spring Avenue. Firefighters had the blaze under control within an hour.

An infant and a badly burned man were taken to the hospital after good Samaritans helped rescue the occupants inside the home.

Robert Garrey tells WPRO-AM that he helped three people out of the building. The Central Falls man says the infant appeared to be OK but the man's burns were significant.

Off-duty Providence firefighter Jermaine Woods also entered the building and helped get those inside to safety.

Pawtucket Police Maj. Arthur Martins says fire investigators will soon begin searching for the cause of the explosion.
