(NECN) - According to the Boston Globe, Vice President Joe Biden called Marty Walsh after the election returns called it a victory for the Dorchester candidate.

Unfortunately for Vice President Biden, he called the wrong Marty Walsh.

The Boston Globe reports Biden called the cell phone of Marty Walsh - a former aide to the late U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy. This Walsh, currently president of Gateway Public Solutions, was at his home in Natick when the vice president called while the Mayor-elect was celebrating at the Park Plaza Hotel.

According to the Globe, this Marty Walsh thanked Vice President Biden, and then offered to help him find the Mayor-elect.

In a one-on-one with NECN political reporter Alison King, Mayor-elect Marty Walsh revealed that Vice President Biden also called his cousin.
