(NECN: Scot Yount) - Everything about Shaq is big! Big dunks, big guy, big shopping spree, and a big heart.

"I read a stat that said 14 million kids would be without toys this year and so we want to try to soften those numbers a bit," said the Celtics center.

Shaq-o-Claus teams up with the Marines to donate to their toys for tots holiday drive. At the Framingham Toys R Us, Mr. Claus goes low in the post to score big for the kids, just as he did the night before in the overtime win against Memphis.

"We play well end of a road trip, we kind of fizzled in and out it is just a work in progress and we are getting better," he said.

Basketball aside, Shaq told us that he does this frankly because his mother told him to.

"It is important that I do what I am told," said Shaq. "I don't really do it for any other reason, my mother and my father they are the people inside my brain, so that everything that I've done charity wise is something probably invented by them."

We asked if he tries to inspire the other guys on the team to be more charitable, and he said, "I just you know, try to lead by example."

Shaq's spree caused quite a stir, but how do you hide this guy?

And he isn't just throwing toys into the cart, Shaq-o-Claus has a list.

"Just saw the Justin Bieber doll that some of the kids want, ipods, ipads, the everything, the remote control cars, the bikes, we do it all here."
