(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Jake Peavy's duck boat is en route to his Alabama home.

The Boston Red Sox right-hander bought one of the duck boats that carried the team through the streets of Boston in their World Series Championship parade.

Peavy paid $75,000 for the amphibious vehicle.

The half-boat, half-truck vehicles were originally designed for the military, but later adapted to take visitors on tours through Boston and onto the Charles River.
