FDA investigating 5 Hour Energy drinks

(NECN) - The FDA is investigating reports of 13 deaths possibly linked to 5-Hour Energy drinks.

The agency has gotten 92 reports that cite illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths after consumption of the energy shots.

Officials say the reports don't necessarily prove the drinks caused the death or injuries, but they are investigating each report.

A spokeswoman for the company that makes 5-Hour Energy says it’s not aware of any deaths proven to have been caused by the product.
