(NECN) – Thanksgiving and football: what could be better?

How about taking the big turkey dinner outside for a tailgate!

Kerry Byrne, founder and publisher of ColdHardFootballFacts.com is here with more on how to put a turkey twist on your Thanksgiving tailgate.

“Thanksgiving is the ultimate celebration of football and food,” says Byrne.

“A Thanksgiving Tailgate” airs on NECN on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. and Thursday, Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving) at 10 a.m. The show combines football and Thanksgiving, mixing together holiday history and tradition, with an entire Thanksgiving tailgate.

Kerry’s masterpiece is deep-fried stuffing, but he also makes deep-fried turkey with local poultry spices, veggies steamed in the grill, bratwurst and a great accent to any Thanksgiving party: homemade cranberry sauce in mason jars.
