The director of the Boston Health Commission is stepping down.
According to the Boston Globe, Barbara Ferrer is expected to announce her resignation next week.
She is reported to take a position with a philanthropic foundation that focuses on racial equity, and early childhood development.
During Ferrer's tenure, the agency led the city's response to the swine flu outbreak of 2009.
